The Advanced Vehicle Research Center is a private for-profit company that focuses on research and commercialization of alternative fuel vehicles and energy transportation technologies. The AVRC is located in Danville Virginia.

The AVRC is now the importer and US agent for sales of the new AD Motors neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV). This newly designed NEV, named the ‘CHANGE’, is designed from a clean concept rather than a modification of a pre-existing platform. The vehicle is one of the most advanced NEV’s available, with an AC motor and 9kWh of Lithium Ion battery storage. Read more about the CHANGE in the AVRC Press Release here, or to view an AD Motors “Change” promotional trailer click here

AVRC is also the U.S. factory representative for CALB, a China-Based high-tech (electric energy storage) company specializing in the production of Li-ion batteries, Battery Management Systems (BMS) and other related products. Check out our new offerings in Li-ion Batteries by clicking here.

The Advanced Vehicle Research Center’s most recent advanced engineering development tool for designing and testing electric vehicle components and electric vehicle drive train designs is a rolling chassis LABoratory Rapid Application Test-bed (LABRAT) that was designed and constructed to greatly reduce the cost and time of testing multiple combinations of drive-train and energy storage systems. The sensor system was developed in collaboration with CyberMetrix Systems in Columbus, Indiana and supported by a grant from the Department of Energy. The system was designed by AVRC senior scientist Dr. Yimin Gao, and built by the AVRC Engineering team at our Center in Danville, Virginia. More information about the LABRAT project can be found in the press release here. To schedule testing time for your EV designs on the LABRAT, email labrat@avrc.com
